Super "Movie" Heros ... Sloppy "Game" Heros

Let's take a guess of how many superheros we have come across till now,  pick your names Superman, Spiderman, Batman, X-Men, Wonder woman, Antman, Ironman, Thor, Hulk ....... the list goes like a women's makeup kit (Just Kidding !). The list is endless ..........

Avengers
Justice League

Taking into account of their roles in film industry, the above hero's have produced huge chunk of money and are part of multiple franchises which span over 10 - 20 years. They have placed themselves in a solid position in the movie industry both collectively as well as independently showing their popularity and power.

According to reports of BoxOfficeMojo ,The net worth of superhero movies from the year 1978 count up to 9  billion dollars where each film has a contribution of about 100 million to its credit, which is definitely a number to tease upon.

This list is most likely to increase in the coming years which boast itself with and sequels of current franchises to increase their worth as well as new franchises trying to hold their feet in the industry.

But these hero's does not add up to their status as far as gaming industry is considered, though they have proved their presence in movies but still they are yet to prove themselves in games. Most of the superhero games focus their attention only on few heros leaving out others as they were. Even top grossing heros in movies are yet to show their faces in games.

Question is  ' Why there is so much difference even though they are same ? '

The audience who watch the movies as well as play those game are most likely to be same but still games are no match to those movies. There is no solid answer to this question But still lets go ahead with our analysis..

What can it be ???????

First of all , Superhero games miss the mark as they mostly try to ape on the lines of movie. Most of the games follow a path that has been laid by the movie. The problem here is that the game must smash the standards set by the movie , if not atleast reach it , which most likely are not proved by those games.

Iron Man tried  to glide over movie's success but instead it slided

Second reason what might be is that, these games try to enlarge or showcase the image ( status ) of the heros rather than concentrating on the story, screenplay that are crucial for the game's success. The large than life persona is more highlighted than the gritty common man characterization of their life.

I have powers but I am still a Common Man

Last reason i could think of is that, these games confine themselves within a boundary of villains we see most often in movies as a result we tend to lose interest towards them over a period of time.

Joker seems to be the only guy whose craze shoots up though we seem him often

Exceptions

Yes, there are exceptions which defy our reasons. The best exception that i always adore is 'Batman'.
The Arkham Asylum and Arkham City have transcended all the trends set by previous superhero games.
The exploitation of character and its perfection its shows in it story, game-play is simply WOW.

I steal the show when it comes to games
Both the game and movie has received critical acclaim for its presentation from multiple reviewers and has piled up some prestigious awards under its sleeve.

Yeah me too .. in my case it's Movies
The gritty atmosphere and darker tone to the character has been crafted with excellence.

The common man perspective , where hero is more vulnerable than others and solves everything odd with much pain and value reflects the player mood as a mirror which is very difficult to achieve.

This has made me expect more from the gaming industry. The true fact is that gaming industry is capable of providing such games with technical finese and visual quality.

THEY CAN  DO IT ....... BUT CAN THEY ??
